Larry Pepe

Larry Pepe is a noted bodybuilding, fitness and mixed martial arts expert with a long and diverse history of excellence. “Pep” started out as a competitive athlete, winning a regional championship on his way to top-5 finishes in the Drug-Free Nationals, USA and Jr. Mr. Universe competitions and successfully fighting in national and world championships.


With his competitive career behind him, he became an NPC National Judge before going on to a career on the print media side of the industry. Pep was a senior writer for Musclemag International, penning the most popular column in the magazine’s history in addition to hundreds of articles covering training, nutrition, supplementation and all aspects of the sport as well as working for Flex Magazine and many other outlets. He went on to author the best-selling book in bodybuilding of that time, The Precontest Bible, a 475-page monster detailing the exact contest-prep blueprints of over 30 of the best professional bodybuilders to ever grace the stage including Ronnie Coleman, Dorian Yates, Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson, Shawn Ray and many more. Pep followed up with The Women’s Precontest Bible, co-authored with Isaac Hinds, revealing the contest prep regimens of the top female athletes in history, from Cory Everson, Lenda Murray and Iris Kyle to Adela Garcia, Oksana Grishina, Davana Medina and more.


Not content to be one of the more prolific personalities on the print side of the industry, Pep took to digital media and started two of the sport’s earliest radio shows…Muscle Radio and Hardbody Radio. He was then selected and served as the expert analyst for the Superbowl of Bodybuilding, the Mr. Olympia competition, for seven years as well and appeared in the feature theatrical film, Generation Iron, the modern day version of the iconic film, Pumping Iron.


In addition to his career in the bodybuilding and fitness industries, Pep is one of the most well-known personalities in Mixed Martial Arts. He created, produced and hosted Pro MMA Radio, a multiple time “Podcast of the Year” winner, for ten years and 500 episodes. Pro MMA Radio was the official and exclusive MMA radio show for the United States Military on the American Forces Network, heard in over 170 countries. Additionally, Pep was the first nationally syndicated MMA radio host on FOX Sports Radio and has done hundreds of appearances as an expert MMA analyst on ESPN, FOX and Sirius XM.
